This is a stop on the SASBA bowling tour. Ours will be a trio event with 120 bowlers plus friends and family. 95% of the participants will be from outside the Alexandria area, and most from out of state. It will feature some of the best bowlers in the south and across the nation. Many of the senior participants will be familiar names that were seen on the PBA Tour back in the 70s and 80s on the ABC TV Saturday broadcast. We will also have some of the current young players from the Tour. Our event will be open to the public Friday through Sunday at Four Seasons Bowling Center
3510 North Blvd. We have a standing arrangement with the Home 2 Suites and Econolodge for all our tournaments. We are required to post a $3000 guarantee to the SASBA organization to secure this spot. Our tournament will bring in over 200 people from out of town for the weekend. We hope to host a Pro-Am event on Saturday evening, September 17 giving local bowlers the opportunity to bowl with some of these legends. I have arranged with KALB for media coverage before and during the event. We would appreciate any monetary assistance with the sponsor fee. I had spoken with Sam about this before he left.
